When my husband and I first started dating back in 2007, he was just starting his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey.  I’ve had my share of waiting around for his jiu-jitsu classes to be over, having him practice moves on me, asking him about how he got random bruises on his face and even witnessing his excitement over promotions through stripes then belts. Fast forward 11 years later, he is now a black belt and runs his own jiu-jitsu school. This holiday season, if your loved one is a BJJ practitioner and you have no idea what to get him or her, we’ve got you covered.  This list is a compilation of BJJ products or services that I’ve seen my husband or his friends use over the years.  The lists are in no particular order.  There are no affiliate links except where noted.

What’s a BJJ practitioner without a gi?  Here are some companies to check out.  Make sure you check the size charts and keep in mind that some gis shrink in the wash.

Do you catch your loved one watching BJJ instructional videos on YouTube?  Instead of those short 2-minute clips, they can get into the details with these.

Gift Idea #6: Defense Soap

**Stocking Stuffer Idea**

Gael force Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ( BJJ ) in Roxbury Twp, (morris county) NJ

Like wrestling, BJJ is a close contact sport so germs are inevitable.  Protect your loved ones.  My husband showers with Defense Soap after his classes.

Gift Idea #7: CBD Relief Icy Pain Rub1

**Stocking Stuffer Idea**

Gael force Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ( BJJ ) in Roxbury Twp, (morris county) NJ

The use of CBD is gaining popularity to ease muscle pain among other benefits.  When I saw this CBD Relief Icy Pain Rub, I became intrigued.  It seems like a good gift and I hope to buy this for my husband one day.

Patches (either sew or iron-on types) on gis are a way to express oneself.  The fun part is they may or may not have anything to do with jiu jitsu.  My husband loves showing off his Iron Maiden patch!   This is a time to get creative.

Gift Idea #9: Private Lessons

Does your loved one have a favorite instructor?  Does she have a lot of questions about the sport or like individualized attention?  It may be worth exploring gifting her a private lesson.  Reach out to the school or instructor to see what they offer.  Prices may depend on the belt level and/or if the instructor has won any major accolades.

Gift Idea #10: Sports Massage

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a pretty intense sport.  The body goes through a lot of twisting, turning, rolling.  If your loved one practices more than once per week, this gift may be well appreciated.  Better yet, consider a couple’s massage so you can reap the benefits too!
